10 Simple Self Help Makeup Tips For A Perfect Makeover | Parlour in Delhi | Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

Applying make-up can be painstaking and cumbersome at times for a few of us. It gets even harder when you have to do it for yourself! You need not worry if your plan it accordingly. The following tips and steps will help you to get the perfect makeover!

How to do Self Makeup

Here I share with you 10 Self makeup tips which you can follow for best results.

Tip #1: Sharp eye and lip liners
To get super sharp liners, you have to freeze them in a refrigerator. Place your liners in refrigerator in the morning if you are planning to go for an evening party. Sharp the liners before applying the makeup and you get the best results ever.

Tip # 2: Always scrub
When you don’t scrub your face, the dry and dead skin makes your face look dull and dark. So scrubbing is necessary for a perfect look.

Just mix baking soda and water in equal quantities and stir it well.
After mixing, apply it on your face and rub it into your skin gently for up to 3 to 4 minutes and then wash it with clean water.

Tip #3: A Foundation is all you need
For getting a fair skin tone, we use “Foundation” as the base layer of makeup. But when done poorly, it looks too cakey and uneven. So it is essential that you apply this perfectly so that it appears invisible. Don’t do the mistake of blending the foundation down the neck and out on the ears. This will make you look like a clown.

Tip #4: Get Set Blush
Most of us think that Blush is a powdered makeup which adds colour to cheeks, but it does more than this. It shadows and contours the cheekbones. If badly applied, blush gives some sort of a 80s look and that too not in a god way.

Tip #5: The Eyeconic Eyes
My sister jokes about certain women saying their eyes look like “shutter doors” as they apply lots of eye shadow. The biggest mistake is that they mess up their makeup with an overdose of eyeliner, using it on the top and bottom lash line till it shrinks the eye. If you have some bold and very dark eyeliners, use them for night parties, this gives you a pretty look. These shades are not meant for the day at all!

Tip # 6: Be Smart with Mascara
Everyone likes waterproof mascara, I too love it. But I struggle too much while removing it. So I always apply a first coat with regular mascara, then above this I apply the waterproof one. Using this way, the waterproof mascara locks onto the other mascara instead of eye lashes and it is easy to remove.

Tip #7: Slides smoothly
If you want make your lips appear stunningly fresh, then scrub them so that the lip colour slides smoothly without caking. Take a toothbrush and rub it over your lips to take off the damaged skin, you can also use a hard cloth towel for this. (Don’t do it many times in a day, it will torture your lips)

Tip #8: Stunning Lips
Lip shade in bright colours like pink and orange draw more attention to your lips and looks tacky. A shiny gloss gives a bold effect so you can use them for dim-light occasions like holidays and night parties. While applying lipstick, you must choose a bit darker shade than natural colour of your lips, this gives realistic effect to your lip.

Tip # 9: Luminous is perfect
Everyone has their own natural face shadow. For looking fairer, you should brighten the natural shadow. It is very easy, stand in front of a mirror and smile – you will see the dark areas under your bottom lip or at the corners of your eyes. To cover these areas, just take an eye shadow with a white shade and blend it in with your fingers.

Tip #10: Soft touch
When blending or applying foundation, we usually use makeup brushes. But the skin of your face is delicate, so the prefect tool for applying makeup will be your ring finger. It applies makeup boldly and gives a perfect look, and also saves the time.

Follow these cool tips for a beautiful makeover.

Tricks to Apply Red Lipstick Like a Makeup Artist | Make-Up | Parlour in Delhi | Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

Smooth the surface

With a bold lip, you want the attention to be on your daring color choice, not how dry and flaky your lips are. “With a sophisticated matte lipstick, you need smooth, hydrated lips,” Hess says. She likes to exfoliate with a store-bought sugar scrub but says you can make your own by mixing raw sugar and honey into a paste. Don't miss these makeup mistakes that make your skin look dry.

Add moisture

To apply lipstick like a pro, keep any more cracks and flakes from forming by getting your lips hydrated. Hess recommends organic argan oil—anything that’s too shiny could ruin the color of your lipstick. Do your face and eye makeup while waiting for your oil or balm to work its magic, Mae says. “It gives it the opportunity, even if for just five minutes, to allow the lip to be moisturized,” she says.

Give your lipstick a base

You might want to start with lip primer if you’re concerned that your color will fade, but a sharp lip liner is even more essential to getting a crisp, long-lasting color. “Typically lip liner is more waxy, so it holds it in place and prevents bleeding,” Mae says. Check out these makeup tricks that make you photo ready.

Use a lip brush

A bold color requires a bit more control when applying it. “If you take a tube and wipe it back and forth, you’ll get way too much product on,” Hess says. A lip brush, on the other hand, makes it easier to get a thin layer that doesn’t travel outside your lip line. Applying lipstick from the center of the lip up will make your lips even more full, she says.

Set the color

Keep your color in place with translucent powder. Lay a tissue over your lips, then use a powder brush to distribute the product over your mouth. The powder will go through the tissue to set the color, Mae says. After it’s set, you can add another thin layer of lipstick, Hess says.

Make it crisp

If you end up with lipstick where you didn’t want it, pull out your concealer or foundation to rescue your look. “Use a concealer brush to carefully run it around the line of your lips to get that crisp edge and clean up any little accidents you had when applying,” Mae says. A pencil product makes it especially easy to get a clean line, she says. Here's how to fix these other sloppy makeup mistakes.

Go for gloss

For a bit of sparkle or shine, you can finish with a gloss, but be warned that it probably won’t last long and could take the rest of your lipstick with it, Mae says. “Because it’s tacky and sticky and wet, it will come off no matter what,” she says. If a glossy lip is the look you want, she recommends using a liquid lipstick rather than a traditional tube. Liquid is drier and longer lasting than regular lipstick, so even if your gloss slides off, the base color will stick around longer. Use these tricks to make your makeup last in the heat.

Strike the right balance

A smoky eye could be overpowering with a red lip, especially during the day, though it’s all about personal preference, Mae says. To avoid an overly heavy makeup look, Hess recommends picking two out of three when it comes to eyes, lips, and face. Pair red lips with either a bold eye or bold, contoured cheeks—but not both, she says. Read these simple makeup tips that make your eyes pop.

Learn Natural Makeup Look | Make-Up | Parlour in Delhi | Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

Here’s what you’ll need to slay this no-makeup makeup look.

What You Need

  1. Lightweight, hydrating moisturizer
  2. Radiance primer
  3. Luminizing foundation (or a lightweight one)
  4. Concealer
  5. Eyelash curler
  6. Mascara
  7. Eyeliner pencil in black
  8. Bronzer
  9. Cream Blush
  10. Lipstick

Step 1: Prepping Your Skin

Prepping your skin is key to slaying this look or any look for that matter. Make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturize your face properly with a lightweight moisturizer before you begin. It’s crucial to prep your skin with a primer – and the best option would be to choose a radiance primer like the Estee Lauder The Illuminator Radiant Perfecting Primer. This will give you an ultra smooth base and will help your foundation glide on like a dream. You’ll also have a super fresh, glowy finish.

Step 2: Applying Your Foundation

Pick a lightweight foundation or a tinted moisturizer in a shade that exactly matches your skin tone. If you can’t seem to find your exact shade, mix two shades for a flawless finish. Try the Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Fluid- Touch Foundation if you want to achieve that dewy, fresh glow. Use a buffing brush to blend in the product. We recommend the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush – it buffs in the formula incredibly well and your skin looks skin-like, rather than giving your face a masked look. Now, the trick to make your face look like it has nothing on is to buff, buff, and buff some more. So take some time to do this in detail.

Step 3: Time For Concealer

Brightening your eyes and banishing any dark spots or redness is what’s next. Use a concealer that you love. We recommend trying the Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer – it’s super pigmented, it won’t crease, and it stays put all day long! Draw a V-shape underneath your eyes – like an inverted triangle, and use your buffing brush to buff the product out, until you can’t see any harsh lines or patches. Remember, blending is key!

Step 4: Moving On To The Eyes

Once you’re done with your base, it’s time to enhance your eyes (in the most subtle manner possible.) Start by curling your lashes using a high-quality eyelash curler. We recommend trying the Revlon Lash Curler No. 8 – it’s of great quality and is affordable at the same time. Once you achieve your curl, it’s time for mascara! If you want to volumize and lengthen your lashes with one product – the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara does wonders to give you gorgeous, fluttery long lashes. One layer of mascara does the trick for this look – for both your upper and lower lashes. Next, use a black eyeliner pencil to tightline your upper lash line, to give an illusion of thicker and darker lashes. We can’t get over the Urban Decay 24/3 Glide-On Eye Pencil in black – it’s extremely pigmented and long-lasting.

It’s also a great idea to groom your eyebrows and add some definition – nothing too major since it’s all about subtlety. Use a brow powder to fill in sparse areas of your brows, and apply it with a thin, flat angled brush.

Step 5: Warm It Up With Bronzer

When we say bronze it up a notch, don’t go overboard because this look is all about keeping it simple. Use a subtle bronzer and slightly brush it along your cheekbones and hairline to warm it up a bit. Try the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer to create an over-warmth – it’s infused with 100% real cocoa powder!

Step 6: Add A Flush Of Color To The Cheeks

For your blush, cream blush without any kind of shimmer or glitter looks most natural. It has a texture similar to that of your skin and is also very sheer. For a lit-from-within effect, try the Stila Convertible Color – it’s a cheek and lip cream, and it gives you that perfect, translucent color. Use a blush brush and put a little bit on your cheeks, blend it out well with your buffing brush.

Step 7: Perfect Your Pout

Add some color! The perfect lip color is one of the secret ingredients to a stunning no-makeup makeup look. Depending on the shade of your blush, there are a few ways you can go – if your blush is coral or a brighter pink – tone it down with a muted lip color or a tinted lip balm. If you want a natural pink shade – try the M.A.C Lustre Lipstick in Syrup. Pick a shade that is closest to your natural lip color – for that “my lips, but better” look.

And ladies, that’s how it’s done! A fresh, lit-from-within, no-makeup makeup look that you can literally wear every day – whether it is to work or to a movie date. Also, it’s great for every season!

Makeup Tricks to Look Naturally Gorgeous | Parlour in Delhi | Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

Start by exfoliating
Getting your bare skin glowing will make it easier to get gorgeous skin without caking on makeup. Start with an exfoliating treatment to buff off any dead skin. “If you get off the dry skin, you get that smooth surface for when you apply makeup,” says Hannah Baylog, lead makeup artist trainer with Blushington makeup and beauty lounge in Dallas. Don't miss these face-washing mistakes you didn't realize you were making.

Add hydration
“No-makeup makeup is all about the skin, so it’s very important to have very hydrated-looking skin,” says Mariah Jere, market manager, and makeup and hair stylist for WarPaint International Beauty Agency. Start with a toner or rose water, then add a lightweight moisturizer—ones with hyaluronic acid tend are good for all skin types, she says. Don't make these makeup mistakes that make your skin look dry.

Prime your skin
Applying a primer before makeup will help your makeup last longer. “Primers have different purposes depending on the formulation,” says Jere. “The variety of primer depends on the skin type and what you want the end results to be.” Assess your skin type, then decide whether one that’s smoothing, oil-controlling, or color-correcting is best for your needs. Here are more ways to make your makeup last longer.

Swap foundation for tinted moisturizer
Tinted moisturizer gives you lighter coverage than traditional foundation, letting your natural glow shine through. “Light to medium coverage is my best recommendation for that kind of natural look,” says Jere. Here's how to use makeup to fake flawless skin.

Pick the right foundation
If you need more coverage than a tinted moisturizer, go for a water-based foundation, which will give you a barely-there feel while evening your skin tone. “Oil-based ones can sit on the skin and separate more,” says Baylog. “Water-based formulas tend to be more long-lasting while still looking dewy instead of matte and heavy.” Mix your foundation with a bit of moisturizer to look even more fresh-faced, says Jere. Find out how to make your beauty supplies last longer.

Use tools designed to blend
Swap out your usual foundation brush (and don’t use your fingers!) for a beauty blender, which will keep your makeup from looking thick and cakey. “That will give an airbrushed look and apply flawlessly without looking heavy or painted-looking like a brush can,” says Baylog. Avoid these other makeup mistakes that make you look sloppy.

Define with bronzer
A cream-based bronzer just a couple shades darker than your natural skin tone will let you emphasize your natural shadows without creating a heavy contour. Blend it into your jaw, temple, and over your cheekbones to get a natural look. “It gives a little sculpting to the face and warmth,” says Jere. Try these makeup tricks that make you look thinner.

Fake your glow
Sweep highlighter over your cheekbone, brow bone, and the inner corner of your eyes to look like you're glowing from within. “It’s that highlight that makes people say, ‘You look so glowy,’” says Baylog. “It looks like you’re radiating light.” Check out these makeup tricks to look less tired.

Add a natural flush
“Especially if you’re using foundation, you mute the natural color you’d have in your cheeks with a flesh-toned base, so you want to add some of that back in,” says Jere. To return that natural flush, Baylog recommends using a cream blush or cheek stain to get a healthy glow without the powdery look of a traditional blush. Stains look complicated but apply easily with your usual blush brush or beauty blender, she says. If the color is too heavy, press a beauty blender against the pigment to take off the excess while leaving on the light glow you want.

Blend, blend, blend
Harsh lines will make it obvious that you’re wearing makeup, so be sure to blend them in. Use a big brush to blend powder or bronzer under your chin and down your neck. “People tend to skip that step,” says Baylog. “Even makeup artists do the face and forget the neck and décolleté.” Here's why you should always wash your makeup tools.

5 Easy Makeup Tips That Will Make Your Face Look Thin Instantly | Makeup Tips | Parlour in Delhi, Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

Girls with round or fuller face often want to know how they can make their face look slimmer. The answer is with the help of makeup. With the right makeup technique, you can effectively make your chubby face look slender.

So, here are the important makeup tips that you should keep in mind if you want to camouflage your round face.

#1. Play with the eyes

  • It is important to make your eyes stand out. Highlight them with black eyeliner, dark eye shadow and mascara.
  • Start with the eyeliner. Give your eyes a soft smudgy look, instead of a thin and precise line. This will make your eyes look bigger and attractive, drawing the attention away from your face.
  • While applying the eye shadow, make sure that the shade suits your complexion and compliments your dress. Use more shimmering shades on the brow line. In the inner half of the crease, opt for a slightly darker shade. Lastly, apply the darkest shade at the outer corner of your eye.
  • The different shades should merge properly; else it will give a patchy look to your eyes.
  • Make your lashes look thicker and longer with a few coats of mascara.

#2. Shape your eyebrows

  • Give a proper shape to your eyebrows. Well-groomed eyebrows can make your face look lean and slender. For those with round faces, it is ideal to keep an arch slightly higher, directly over the outer part of the eye pupil.
  • Girls with round or fuller face often want to know how they can make their face look slimmer. The answer is with the help of makeup. With the right makeup technique, you can effectively make your chubby face look slender.
  • So, here are the important makeup tips that you should keep in mind if you want to camouflage your round face.

#3. Blusher essential

  • The main thing which should be kept in mind while using blusher is the way of applying its strokes. A good blusher not only makes your face appear toned and sharp but also shows off the beauty points of your face.
  • A pink or peach blusher suits almost every skin tone.
  • The strokes should conceal the fullness of your face. Always apply the blush using firm and brisk strokes, in a sweeping motion.
  • Never apply blush on the apple of your cheeks in a circular motion, as this will only highlight the roundness of your face.
  • The best trick to hide the roundness of your face is to apply the brush directly under the cheekbones and blend them all the way into your temples.
  • After applying the blush, if you feel like adding more drama to your look, then you can blend a highlighter on the top of your cheekbones in soft sweeping motions. This would add a slight edge to your features as well.
  • Give a makeover to your lips with the help of lip liner.
  • If you have thin lips then make them voluminous with the help of the liner. Thin lips can make your face look round.
  • Plump up your lips by applying the liner on the lower lip. Do not line the upper lip; else the lips will look too full.

#4. Lip trick

  • Go for glossy nude colours as they make your lips look natural and fuller. If you have a fairer complexion, you can choose pink or peach lip colours. But, it is best to stay clear of all bright shades.
  • Another good way to add volume to your lips is to apply a shimmery lip gloss in the middle of your lower lip, over your neutral shade lip colour.

#5. Darker foundation
  • Since you have to make your round face appear more oval, it is important to draw the attention away from the sides of your face.
  • After moisturising your face, apply an even layer of dark-coloured foundation on your face and neck.
  • Use a darker shade of the foundation in the hollow of your cheeks. This would give a slimmer and slender appearance to your face.

6 amazing coconut oil beauty hacks | Beauty Tips | Parlour in Delhi, Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

All Indian women know the miracle-like of power of coconut oil when is comes to transforming dry, brittle hair in to silky, soft flowing tresses. But this wonder oil has a whole host of other beauty benefits too. Here are six different ways you can incorporate it in your beauty routine.

Eye makeup remover
Removing makeup at the end of the day can be a pain, especially if it’s the stubborn, waterproof sort, which is really hard work! Enter your nifty little hero. Coconut oil is great at breaking down and removing waterproof makeup. Tip some coconut oil onto a cotton ball and gently swipe around your eyes. You’ll be surprised by how quickly the makeup comes off! Rinse your face once you’re done.

Handy cuticle cream

Dry brittle nails and peeling cuticles getting you down? Dab a bit of coconut oil directly onto your nails and cuticles, and gently massage it in. Ideally, let the oil soak in overnight. It hydrates and softens the skin around the cuticles, and helps strengthen your nails. You’ll wake up to younger-looking fingers in the morning. Apply the oil a few times a week for best results.

Makeup brush cleaner
You need to clean your makeup applicators at least once a month to maintain hygiene and avoid bacteria from building up. To make your own brush cleaner, mix put two parts antibacterial liquid soap with one part coconut oil. Soak your brushes in the mixture for a few hours. Wash with warm water to remove all the makeup and make your brushes bacteria-free (the oil’s anti-fungal properties help in this).

DIY body scrub
Coconut oil is a great based for a hydrating, moisturising body scrub. Mix half a cup of coarse sugar or sea salt with half a cup of coconut oil to create an exfoliator. You can also add in a few drops of an essential oil you like for a soothing scent. Rub the mixture all over your body to remove dead skin cells and make your skin baby soft. Add a little more of the coarse ingredients for the rough, hard skin around your elbows and feet.

Shaving cream
Run out of shaving cream and have to step out for a party? No problem, just slather on some coconut cream! Your razor will glide more smoothly, allowing for a closer shave, and its anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties will ensure your legs are protected against infections from nicks. It also helps that coconut will moisturise your pins while you’re getting the fuzz out. That’s a win-win in our book! Just remember to do this outside the shower as the oil can make things very slippery.

Soften dry, rough skin
Your elbows, knees, and heels tend to have rough, dry skin that needs a little extra TLC. So soften the skin in these areas, gently massage in some coconut and leave it on overnight. The oil helps lock in moisture, preventing dehydration. Hello softer, smoother skin!

Few eyeliner hacks for perfect eyes very time | Mackup Tips | Parlour in Delhi, Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

1. Transition from pencil to liquid

Not confident enough to use a tricky liquid liner? No problem. First line your eyes with a pencil liner. Make thin feather light strokes near the lash line till you get the shape you want. Then trace over with the liquid liner to create a super solid colour and sharp line.

2. Start with the wings

To get a great cat eye, start with the wings first. Break it up into three steps. Draw a straight line from the corner of your eye towards the tip of your eyebrow. It should be as long as the flick you want. Then draw another line from the tip of the flick to the middle of your eyelid so that you get a triangle. Then draw a thin line to connect the inner corner of your eye. Now fill in the outlines and you have bold statement eyes!

3. Connect the dots
Have trouble drawing a straight line on the lids itself? Sit down and rest your elbow on a flat surface. Then start placing small dots or dashes along the lash line in the shape you want. Next, connect the dots one at a time. It’s kind of like those join-the-dots books you played with as a child. Once you’re done, steady your hand and go over the line in one go.

4. Use tape/Post-it for perfection

This is a great tip for beginners or those who have a hard time keeping their hand steady. Start by cutting a thick, long piece of tape or Post-it. Stick it on your hand a couple of times to get rid of the stickiness so it doesn’t tug at your skin. (Paper tape/surgical tape is better as it doesn’t pull the skin.) Then stick the tape or Post-it diagonally near the corner of your eye. It should go all the way up past the tip of your eyebrow. Now start applying the eyeliner like you normally would. When you come to the corner carry right onto the tape. Once you’ve got the line done, take off the tape and revel in your perfect cat eye!

5. Get a bigger eye with white eyeliner

Line your lower waterline with a white eyeliner to create the illusion that it is an extension of the white part of your eye. This is a great hack for making your eyes look bigger and brighter. It makes your eyes stand out and look more awake.

6. Tightline to make your eyes pop

If you’re going for a more natural look then tightlining is your best friend. Instead of applying the liner on your lid, apply it between the lashes from the underside. Gently lift your eyelid and lashes upwards so as to expose the underside. Then lightly dab the eyeliner between the lashes at the roots. Connect to create a smooth line. This will make your lashes look fuller and eyes more defined. This trick subtly alters the appearance of your eyes without looking too made up.

Beauty Tips for Girls to Fight the Summer Heat Wave - Parlour in Delhi, Salon in Lajpat Nagar & Malviya Nagar

This year has been particularly a scorching surprise with the onslaught of the sun, coming on full swing in spring instead of summer, and the temperatures soaring to 45 degrees when we were just about getting to enjoy the season. I have been bombarded with queries of sunburn, open pores, burning of the hands and feet, burning eyes and above all, how to stay cool.

So how does one try and adjust their body to the harsh weather, when the country is facing a heat wave? For starters, let’s work on the diet and exclude the evils – rich gravies, fried snacks, starchy food, alcohol and aerated drinks. What you really need to include in your summer bar are chaas (buttermilk), coconut water, lime water, light squashes of Bael and Rhododendron, which help cool the system. Moreover, include lots of seasonal fruits in your diet like watermelon, musk melons, cucumber, raita and bottle gourd (gheea). Add fresh mint leaves into food, salads and drinks to help you keep cool.

Beauty Remedies to Beat the Heat

Besides maintaining a light diet, here are some easy beauty tips for girls that can help you cure your summer woes. Here’s a list –

1. Burning Hands and Feet
For those of you who experience extreme burning on the hands and feet, I would suggest that you rub bitter gourd slices on the soles of your feet and the palms of your hand and watch how you’re your skin feels.

2. Burning Eyes
For burning eyes, keep used tea bags in the freezer and place them on your eyes for a few minutes and relax. Rose water pads and cucumber slices are also very highly effective.

3. For Fresh Looking Skin
I would like to suggest that you store fresh rosewater in the fridge at all times and spritz your face and neck with this several times in a day. If you are working, you can keep a bottle in your office. For those of you, who have children, make this a daily routine when they come back from school or college. You will notice immediate effect.

Never throw away watermelon peels; in fact just keep them in your freezer and rub them whenever you get back from outdoors. Not only will it help cool the skin but also provide natural AHA’s and make the skin soft and well hydrated.

4. Open Pores
Open pores become a big issue during summers, and to prevent this, just put a couple of slices of raw tomatoes in the freezer and then place them on your skin for it to absorb the juice. Rub gently into the skin and feel the tautness. You will notice the open pores shrink soon.

5. Scalp Problems
I have recently got a lot of queries from people who are experiencing boils on their scalp. This could well be due to the sudden heat wave and the best way to treat this is to rinse the hair with neem water.
The rinse can be made by boiling a handful of neem leaves in one litre of water and letting it cool. After shampooing, rinse the hair with this mix. You could also apply fuller’s earth mixed with cold milk if you have dry hair and leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse. For those of you who have oily hair, mix the fuller’s earth with yoghurt and apply on the scalp and hair.

6. Body Odour
Body odour can be like a nightmare in summers and it is best to avoid synthetic material and stick to cool cottons and tussars. Linen also works well. Avoid tight fitting clothes and weave your day around loose and airy fits to keep your cool.

Try and bathe twice a day and add a few drops of essential oil such as lime, geranium, bergamot and lemon to your last rinse of bathing water. For those in a tub, add sea salt, lemon slices, mogra or jasmine flowers and soak in their goodness. A cup of milk added to this bath water will be magical for the skin as it will make it softer and hydrated naturally.

Now that you have got these simple tips, just imbibe them into your lifestyle and feel the difference. No sooner than you know, you would have dealt with this burning issue and be feeling as cool as a cucumber!

The Best Mascaras for your Lash Type - Parlour in Delhi, Salon in Lajpat Nagar & Malviya Nagar

In short, you should become intimately acquainted with your own lashes before spending money on lash products. Factors to consider include the mascara’s formula, its intended effects, and even the color. Ahead, we break it down.
Mascara Effects
Generally speaking, there are three major promises mascaras make: the ability to volumize, the ability to lengthen, and the ability to curl. Many can deliver on these promises if they’re quality products and if they’re paired with the right lashes.
Lengthening
Lengthening mascaras, like this one from Estée Lauder, work on both short and full lashes, and help to elongate and separate, explains celebrity makeup artist Marni Burton. Mascaras that contain fibers are particularly good at extending lashes, and some even come as a two-part application process (more on that later). Also, many lengthening mascaras are applied with hard rubber applicators with very short, dense bristles.
Volumizing/Thickening
People with sparse lashes should look for mascaras that add volume, like this CoverGirl pick. Volumizing mascaras often contain silicone and/or minerals — which plump and nourish the lashes — and tend to dry faster, allowing you to build multi-layer volume more quickly.
Curling
“If you have straight lashes, then a curling mascara is best,” says Burton. “Curling-mascara formulas use supple waxes to soften the lashes, and shape them to have a curved dimension.” When putting on curling mascara — or any kind of mascara — apply pressure to the lash bed and press upward. You can also hold the wand on the tips of your lashes and gently press up and back while the mascara dries. This allows the curl to set. A good eyelash curler can also help you create a dramatic, curled effect.
Mascara Formulations
We touched a little bit on mascara formulas, but let’s dive in a little deeper.

Oil-&-Wax-Based
Not only are oil-and-wax-based mascaras the easiest to find in stores, but this is also the most traditional type. The cosmetics world has branched out, but wax has become a standard for a reason. “Wax is best known for its volume, separating, and blackest black capabilities,” explains Burton — adding that she finds wax mascaras create the most natural, beautiful lashes. She recommends looking for soft waxes, which help create a soft and flexible feel. Hard waxes — found in low-quality and expired mascaras — can stiffen your lashes and cause breakage.
Tubing
This is a less common type of mascara, but it’s proven to be a good alternative for those who are sensitive to wax, oil, and fiber mascaras that may flake or smudge into the eyes. Tubing mascara works by encapsulating the entire lash in a polymer-based formula. It gently hardens, protecting your lashes and hyper extending them. It’s also water-resistant, which gives it the green light for beach days. “Tubing mascara can be tricky to remove,” notes Burton. “You don’t want to pull at your lashes too much when cleansing. Use a natural oil to slide mascara right off.”

Fiber
We’ve seen an uptick in fiber mascaras in recent years, like this one from Too Faced. Some are single-tube applications that contain small fibers within the black or brown formula. Others are two- or three-part applications that require you to first apply a base layer, and then swipe on fibers, followed with a sealant layer.

The result is full, dramatic lashes. So dramatic, in fact, that it may look like you’re wearing falsies. Fiber mascaras come with a caveat, though: They require a very deft hand. Poor application can result in dramatically clumpylashes.

Tips To Keep Your Makeup Lasting Longer - Parlour in Delhi, Salon in Lajpat Nagar, Rajouri Garden & Malviya Nagar

1. Primer: On a long day outside, primer is your best friend. Rub on a little bit on your forehead and nose to avoid your makeup getting shiny throughout the day. Primer essentially mattifies your skin, which in turn helps your makeup last longer.

2. Waterproof eye makeup: Nothing says ‘I’m done for the day’ like smudged eye makeup. We strongly insist on waterproof eyeliners and mascaras to avoid the much-dreaded end-of-day look.

3. Liquid foundation: If you’re a fan of liquid foundation, you know the streaky effect it gives at the end of a long day out. Well, it doesn’t have to anymore. Apply your liquid foundation in criss-cross strokes to avoid this very common problem.

4. Blotting papers: This, ladies, is your hack to day-long perfection for your makeup. Long days mean runny makeup due to the sheen of oil and sweat that accompanies the day. Keep a few blotting papers on hand, and blot the sheen away to keep your makeup looking fresh.

5. Lipstick hack: Lipsticks are one of the first applications to get ruined as your day progresses. Instead of running to the ladies room to freshen up your lip colour every time you eat or drink something, try this. Hold a tissue paper against your lips after applying your lip colour, and dab a little pressed powder on to the tissue with a makeup brush, lining your lips. This will help set the lipstick and prevent smudging.
