Learn Natural Makeup Look | Make-Up | Parlour in Delhi | Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

Here’s what you’ll need to slay this no-makeup makeup look.

What You Need

  1. Lightweight, hydrating moisturizer
  2. Radiance primer
  3. Luminizing foundation (or a lightweight one)
  4. Concealer
  5. Eyelash curler
  6. Mascara
  7. Eyeliner pencil in black
  8. Bronzer
  9. Cream Blush
  10. Lipstick

Step 1: Prepping Your Skin

Prepping your skin is key to slaying this look or any look for that matter. Make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturize your face properly with a lightweight moisturizer before you begin. It’s crucial to prep your skin with a primer – and the best option would be to choose a radiance primer like the Estee Lauder The Illuminator Radiant Perfecting Primer. This will give you an ultra smooth base and will help your foundation glide on like a dream. You’ll also have a super fresh, glowy finish.

Step 2: Applying Your Foundation

Pick a lightweight foundation or a tinted moisturizer in a shade that exactly matches your skin tone. If you can’t seem to find your exact shade, mix two shades for a flawless finish. Try the Maybelline Dream Flawless Nude Fluid- Touch Foundation if you want to achieve that dewy, fresh glow. Use a buffing brush to blend in the product. We recommend the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush – it buffs in the formula incredibly well and your skin looks skin-like, rather than giving your face a masked look. Now, the trick to make your face look like it has nothing on is to buff, buff, and buff some more. So take some time to do this in detail.

Step 3: Time For Concealer

Brightening your eyes and banishing any dark spots or redness is what’s next. Use a concealer that you love. We recommend trying the Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer – it’s super pigmented, it won’t crease, and it stays put all day long! Draw a V-shape underneath your eyes – like an inverted triangle, and use your buffing brush to buff the product out, until you can’t see any harsh lines or patches. Remember, blending is key!

Step 4: Moving On To The Eyes

Once you’re done with your base, it’s time to enhance your eyes (in the most subtle manner possible.) Start by curling your lashes using a high-quality eyelash curler. We recommend trying the Revlon Lash Curler No. 8 – it’s of great quality and is affordable at the same time. Once you achieve your curl, it’s time for mascara! If you want to volumize and lengthen your lashes with one product – the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara does wonders to give you gorgeous, fluttery long lashes. One layer of mascara does the trick for this look – for both your upper and lower lashes. Next, use a black eyeliner pencil to tightline your upper lash line, to give an illusion of thicker and darker lashes. We can’t get over the Urban Decay 24/3 Glide-On Eye Pencil in black – it’s extremely pigmented and long-lasting.

It’s also a great idea to groom your eyebrows and add some definition – nothing too major since it’s all about subtlety. Use a brow powder to fill in sparse areas of your brows, and apply it with a thin, flat angled brush.

Step 5: Warm It Up With Bronzer

When we say bronze it up a notch, don’t go overboard because this look is all about keeping it simple. Use a subtle bronzer and slightly brush it along your cheekbones and hairline to warm it up a bit. Try the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer to create an over-warmth – it’s infused with 100% real cocoa powder!

Step 6: Add A Flush Of Color To The Cheeks

For your blush, cream blush without any kind of shimmer or glitter looks most natural. It has a texture similar to that of your skin and is also very sheer. For a lit-from-within effect, try the Stila Convertible Color – it’s a cheek and lip cream, and it gives you that perfect, translucent color. Use a blush brush and put a little bit on your cheeks, blend it out well with your buffing brush.

Step 7: Perfect Your Pout

Add some color! The perfect lip color is one of the secret ingredients to a stunning no-makeup makeup look. Depending on the shade of your blush, there are a few ways you can go – if your blush is coral or a brighter pink – tone it down with a muted lip color or a tinted lip balm. If you want a natural pink shade – try the M.A.C Lustre Lipstick in Syrup. Pick a shade that is closest to your natural lip color – for that “my lips, but better” look.

And ladies, that’s how it’s done! A fresh, lit-from-within, no-makeup makeup look that you can literally wear every day – whether it is to work or to a movie date. Also, it’s great for every season!

Golden Beauty Rules for Combination Skin | Parlour in Delhi | Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

Treat different areas differently

If you have an oily T-zone and dry cheeks, it's nearly impossible to find one product that works for your entire face. When it comes to moisturizers, your best bet is to use an anti-acne cream for acne-prone areas and an oil-free moisturizer everywhere else. Many beauty companies will make dual products specifically designed for combination skin; these packs include a mattifying moisturizer for the T-zone and a hydrating moisturizer for the cheek area. These are the best facial moisturizers for different skin types.

Wash with a gentle cleanser

When you have acne, any acne, you may be tempted to reach for the most powerful cleanser on the shelf. But that's a mistake for two reasons when you have combination skin: Potent formulas can actually irritate dry cheeks while simultaneously stimulating the oily T-zone to produce more oil. When in doubt, stick to a gentle, water-soluble cleanser; this can be gel or cream as long as it's effective in removing away all the bad stuff (makeup, dirt, and debris) without making the skin feel greasy or dry afterward. Make sure you're not making these 13 common face-washing mistakes.

Wash with lukewarm water

Hot water makes the skin's essential oils soften like butter and strip away when soap is added into the mix, and without those oils, every bit of moisture in your pores will disintegrate, leading to potentially painfully tight and itchy skin. After cleansing, slather on a serum to lock in moisture. "All skin types can benefit from a hydrating serum, because they help lower oil overproduction so combination skin isn't so noticeable," says Eliss Halina, certified aesthetician. It's important to note that she recommends hydrating serums, not those for dry skin. "Hydrating products help boost water retention within the skin, whereas products for dry skin are usually helping to supplement oil production."

Don't skimp on the toner

Because oily and dry skin holds different pH balances, equalizing them is essential for maintaining healthy skin, and using a toner after you wash is a great way to do exactly that, says Kachiu Lee, board-certified dermatologist and assistant professor of dermatology at Brown University. Just make sure your toner is alcohol-free so it doesn't dry out your skin or overstimulate oil glands.

Use a mild exfoliant at least twice a week

You may be cleansing and moisturizing properly, but if you're not exfoliating, your skin isn't in prime condition. "This step is especially important for those with combination skin because the cheeks can often appear dry and flaky, but many combination skin types still experience congestion and breakouts," says Mel Adams of Gene Juarez Salons & Spas with locations in Washington state. "Regular exfoliation helps keep your complexion looking smooth and even, and helps prevent and clear congestion and clogged pores." The general rule of thumb for exfoliation is two to four times a week to help remove the sebum, dead skin, and pollution from your skin. And whatever you do, don't make these ten exfoliating mistakes.

Slather on the SPF

Yep, this skincare rule applies to you, even if your combo skin leans towards oily. Adams recommends looking for a non-comedogenic sunscreen so that your T-zone doesn't break out. If you're not a fan of traditional sunscreen or think it makes your skin feel greasy, try a mineral-based sunscreen or sunscreen powder, she suggests. Find out the sunscreens top dermatologists love so much they use them on themselves.

Eat right

Beautiful skin starts from the inside out. "Make sure you are drinking enough water (at least eight glasses a day), eating a well-balanced diet that includes lots of antioxidant-rich food, and getting regular exercise to keep your skin looking its best," suggests Adams. Add these foods to your diet for radiant skin.

Indulge in clay masks

Whether bentonite, which is made up of minerals such as iron, sodium, calcium, potassium, and magnesium, or French green clay, a sea clay composed of magnesium and other minerals from decomposed plant matter, clays masks are effective at cleansing pores and absorbing excess oil from your skin without irritation. Find out all the beauty benefits of bentonite clay.

Avoid products containing alcohol

While you might be tempted to use alcohol-based toners or astringents on the oilier parts of your skin, your face will not thank you, because these dry out your skin. Worse, they can trigger the oily areas to overproduce oil in an attempt to balance your skin. Always read the label on your facial cleansers, toners, and other products to make sure they are alcohol-free. Find out the signs that your skincare products are secretly damaging your complexion.

Tame skin with vitamin A

Because Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant that helps combat free radicals, it makes it harder for P. acnes bacteria to thrive and become blemishes. It also helps speed up your skin cell turnover, removing dead skin cells and revealing more glowing skin. You'll see it called retinol or tretinoin on ingredient labels. Find out what your acne might be saying about your health.

Home Remedies To Lighten Your Dark Knees & Elbows | Skin Care | Parlour in Delhi | Salon in Lajpat Nagar | Malviya Nagar | Dwarka

Do you sometimes feel your knees and elbows are darker than other parts of your body? Well, yes they are. This is so because the collection of dead cells is more in those areas due to friction and it does not get properly cleaned and taken care of. These areas should be exfoliated daily by cleaning and rubbing. Following are 11 remedies which will help you in doing so: –

Vinegar and Yoghurt
The combination of vinegar and yogurt helps in reducing the dark colour of skin by cleansing and moisturizing the skin. Mix equal parts of vinegar and yogurt.

Apply the mixture to the affected area and leave it until it dries up.

When the mixture dries up, rub that area gently for two minutes in a circular motion and then wash it.

Bleaching Fruits
Lemons, tomatoes, and grapes are few fruits which help in getting rid of dark skin as they have bleaching properties. (Only if used regularly)

Apply the juice of any of the fruits that have bleaching properties on your skin.

If you want, you can apply the juices of different fruits each day.

Olive and other Natural Oils
Natural oils like coconut oil and olive oil should be used on a daily basis as they help in keeping the body moisturized, and they lighten the knees and elbows as well.

Apply oil on a daily basis after every shower.

Leave it on and don’t wash it off.

Use daily for lighter skin.

Sugar and Olive Oil
Sugar granules are helpful in exfoliating dead skin cells. A homemade sugar scrub will lighten and soften the skin. Mix sugar and olive oil to make a thick paste.

Apply the paste on the darkened area and rub in a circular motion.

Wash it off using a mild soap and warm water.

Repeat the process weekly.

Baking Soda
Baking soda is a gentle cleanser due to which it helps in the removal of dead skin and reduces pigmentation around knees and elbows. This is an effective method of treating dark skin.

Mix baking soda and milk (1 tablespoon each) and create a paste.

Apply the paste on the affected area and rub it for 2 to 3 minutes.

After rubbing, wash the area with lukewarm water and let it dry.
Repeat the treatment on a daily basis.

Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter
Cocoa butter and Shea butter are natural creams. So, they act as moisturizers which in turn makes the skin soft. This will help in skin lightening.

Cocoa and Shea butter should be applied every night before sleeping on the darkened body parts.

Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe Vera helps in reducing the damage caused to the skin by the sun. Sun damage happens in overexposed areas, especially knees and elbows. Aloe Vera helps preventing dryness by moisturizing the skin, which is useful as dryness can lead to the darkening of skin as well.

Take Aloe Vera. You can get it either from the plant itself or you can buy it.

Apply the fresh gel on the darkened parts, i.e. knees and elbows and leave it for around half an hour. After some time, you will get a shining and fresh-looking skin.

Use Sunscreen Lotions
The use of sunscreen while going out reduces the chance of skin darkening.

Apply sunscreen on a daily basis, especially during the summer season.

Moisturiser should also be applied after every shower on the knees and elbows.

Lemon and Honey
Lemon acts as a natural bleaching agent and, honey provides moisture to the skin. This prevents the skin from darkening. This remedy should be repeated at least thrice a week for best results. Use natural products for a clear and glowing skin.

Mix the juice taken from one lemon with one tablespoon of honey.

Apply the mixture on the darkened area and leave it on for about 20 minutes.

Wash it off with lukewarm water.

Turmeric, Honey, and Milk
Turmeric, honey, and milk respectively, have three distinguishing features which are very good for the skin. Turmeric, being an antiseptic, helps in the replenishing of cells. Honey acts as a moisturizer as well as an antiseptic. Milk acts as a bleach. All these properties help in getting rid of the darkness.

Mix all the three ingredients; turmeric, milk, and honey, which will create a smooth paste.

Apply the paste on the dark area and leave for about 20 minutes.

After that, rub the area for 2 minutes and then wash it off.

Pumice Stone
Pumice stone helps in the removal of dead cells when rubbed on the dark skin.

Rub the dark skin with a pumice stone while bathing to exfoliate the dead skin cells.

8 Mascara Mistakes You Are Making And What You Should Actually Be Doing - Salon in Malviya Nagar & Lajpat Nagar

#1. Piling on multiple coats
While you do need to layer on some mascaras, this however, does not mean you should go on applying as many coats as you like, thinking it will increase the eyelash length or volume. Allow the first coat to dry out completely before you layer it up with another coat. It will give you an idea as to whether you really need any more coats or not. Usually two to three coats of mascara are enough for it to work its magic.

#2. Not applying it right
When you apply mascara, you need to start at the roots and draw it out towards the tips for a complete coverage. Pull out the mascara wand in little wiggling motions to get proper volume and length. Make sure you wipe the excess mascara off the wand when you pull it out of the tube to avoid clumpy lashes.

#3. Ignoring your lower lashes
Most of you never bother about applying mascara on your lower lashes, because you think it is not important. However, applying it on the lower lashes makes your eyes pop even more. Always remember to apply mascara on your lower lashes first to avoid smudges on the top.

#4. Using waterproof mascara EVERYDAY
Waterproof mascara, as you may have experienced, sits stubbornly on your eye. It takes double the time to take it off. Moreover, if you are in the habit of applying it daily, you run the risk of hurting the sensitive skin around your eyes. It can cause irritation and subsequent eyelash fall out. To avoid such a situation, wear waterproof mascara only when you must, and opt for a regular one for daily use.

#5. Pumping the wand in and out
Do you wonder why your mascara tube becomes dry so fast? It is thanks to your habit of pumping the wand in and out too many times. When you do this, air quickly makes way into the container and dries up the mascara. This results in clumps and flakes, which then stick to your lashes and create a complete mess. Hence, it is best if you swirl the wand around inside the tube.

#6. Not using an eyelash comb
If you think a mascara wand is enough to apply it properly, then think again. You can use a lash comb to separate your lashes for a clump-free look. Use it if there is any excess product on your lashes after you have applied the mascara. You can even clean an old mascara brush and use it to remove excess mascara from your lashes.

#7. Using eyelash curler after applying mascara
If you use a lash curler once the mascara dries off, it can result in unnaturally bent eyelashes. More so, it can actually cause your eyelashes to break and fall off. So, to avoid looking weird and to also save your eyelashes from sacrificing themselves at the altar of your makeup kit, curl your lashes before applying mascara!

#8. Not getting rid of an expired mascara
Girls and their makeup are inseparable, but some forget that beauty products come with an expiry date. If not dumped on time, they can be a health risk. Using expired mascara, for instance can cause eye infections, redness and sties. Besides, it can dry your lashes and result in eyelash loss. We recommend that you scan your make up kit and toss expired mascaras in the bin. That is where they should be sitting, instead of your eyelashes. Ideally, you should be binning them every three to six months.

Best Ways To Deal With Common Skin Problems - Parlor in Lajpat Nagar & Malviya Nagar

 Tiny pimple
Tiny pimple marks and acnes tarnishing your appearance simply make you overindulge in all sorts of creams, lotions and treatments available in the market. A late night cocktail party, a few sleepless nights, days of stress at work, and to top it all- ageing, contribute to such skin problems. But, did you know that constant worrying about your skin problems can in fact multiply them? Relax! We have solutions for four common skin problems that bug you the most. Read on to know more.

Dark circles and puffiness
A very hectic routine and lack of sleep can often lead to dark circles and puffiness around the eyes. Cutting down on your alcohol and salt intake will make them less prominent. Massaging refrigerated eye-gel around the eyes in gentle circular motions before going to bed, can be a great treatment option. You can place refrigerated green tea bags on your eyes for about 15 minutes everyday. This can also serve as a beneficial treatment option for puffy eyes.

Brown spots
Blemishes on face are one of the common signs of sun damage or ageing. Simply apply lemon juice mixed with honey and a pinch of turmeric on your face. Leave it for 15 minutes before washing it off. Do not expect dramatic results overnight. But, if it is a problem that has persisted for a long time, do consult your dermatologist. They will surely prescribe you some acid peels, products with hydroquinone or kojic acid.

Dry, peeling skin
Having itchy and parched skin throughout the year can be a sign of ageing, eczema or dermatitis. It can be caused by a number of things like allergies to food or certain chemicals. While you might be resorting to heavy lotions, it is more beneficial to go for oils such as olive, grapeseed, apricot, rosehip and pomegranate, which can percolate your skin easily. Keep a close watch on things that particularly are irritating for your skin, and stay away from them.

Growing pores
If you notice your skin pores getting bigger, well they may be ringing the warning bell for future wrinkles. They are caused when the collagen walls of your skin start breaking down. The best solution is to keep your skin taut by using skin serums and peptide creams. Regular exfoliation also makes your skin look radiant.

Make sure you exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet, apart from keeping in mind our easy tips.

Expert Winter Skin Care Advice For Different Skin Types

As the winter season arrives, it starts taking a toll on your skin. Some of the common signs of the effect of the harsh weather on skin can be dryness, itchiness, rashes, etc. These are some of the issues usually faced by a majority of people during winters. However, the problems might vary depending on your skin type. Thus, even your skin care regime should also be as per the needs of your skin. And if you don’t know how you can do so, then here are some amazing tips for different skin types to save the grace of your skin during this winter season.

#1. Dry Skin

Dry skin tends to get even drier during winters. If not treated properly, it shows the signs of flakiness, cracks, etc. To combat these signs, start your morning skin care regime by washing your face with a moisturising and non-foaming cleanser, as the one that gives out foam is drying in nature. This will clean your skin and not leave it too dry.
Avoid toners during this season and soothe your skin by applying rose water instead. Then, use a moisturising cream of a good brand that suits you, to nourish your skin from deep within. Also, don’t forget to dab some sunscreen lotion with SPF 15-25 whenever you step outside.

#2. Oily Skin

Winters come easy for people with oily skin as they enjoy a normal skin in this season. The only task remains for you is to find out the best water-based moisturising lotion. Just make sure to moisturise your face after every face washing routine, to maintain a balance of the oil level on your face.
Make a weekly ritual to use a nice exfoliating gel that has minute granules enriched with vitamin E. Though, it is important to exfoliate, never be too harsh on your skin and apply a soothing mask after every exfoliation. Avoid bathing in extremely hot water as it can worsen the problem of acne for people with oily skin.

#3. Normal Skin

Normal skin tends to get dry in winter season and hence, demands extra care. But, you need not worry, as by simply swapping you regular beauty regime with a skin regime for the dry skin can make things simpler for you. Likewise, use a mild face wash with creamy texture followed by applying a moisture-rich cream.
Also, munch a few nuts on regular intervals to ensure the intake of vitamin E in your body to keep the skin well-nourished.

#4. Combination Skin

Combination skin has an oily T-zone (including forehead, nose and chin) along with comparatively drier cheeks and jawline. Therefore, it is necessary to treat these specific parts differently. You may merge the above skin care rituals of dry and oily skin, and use it in your favour.
Use a moisturising face wash all over the face apart from your T-zone and apply rose water on that area. Now, slather some water-based moisturiser on your T-zone and use a moisturising cream for the rest of the part of your face. Try to drink at least eight to ten glasses of water daily. It will help keep your skin hydrated and supple while flushing out the harmful toxins from your body.

#5. Sensitive Skin

Avoid any cosmetic product that contains and go for medicated products instead. Choose products designed for sensitive skin to avoid any kind of allergies and reactions. Always check the ingredient list before buying any new product. If possible, then also do a patch-test on the skin of your wrist or behind your ears.
Even in winters, sun can do an immense damage to the sensitive skin. Therefore, never forget to put sunscreen with both UVA and VVB protecting properties while going out. Also, eating vitamin C-enriched fruits would be beneficial as they are sure to boost the immunity of your skin.
