Care For Your Hair This Winter - Parlour in Delhi, Salon in Lajpat Nagar, Rajouri Garden & Malviya Nagar

Winter is here. And if you think that means an end to all your hair problems and sun damage resulting madness, you could not be more wrong. Winter brings with itself a whole new set of hair issues.

Oil and Lemon: Dry scalp is a common problem during winters, leading to dandruff. Combat this issue with just some heated hair oil and the juice of half a lemon. Squeeze your lemon juice into the heated oil and apply on your scalp and massage it in. Simple enough, right?

Frizzy Hair: What with your sweaters and your scarfs, winter is the time of static. And static is not good for your hair at all; it leads to frizz. In order to maintain non-frizzy hair throughout winter, you just need a change of hairbrush, a change in your shower water temperature and a leave-in conditioner. Use a vented hairbrush, preferably one that has a combination of plastic and boar bristles. Use lukewarm water instead of hot water for your shower, as hot water tends to dry out the scalp and not retain moisture at all. And use that leave-in conditioner.

Apple Honey: What with the drying and the frizz, the hair’s usual shine and bounce are lost during winter time. Prevent this happening with a simple homemade deep conditioning hair mask. Apply apple honey over your roots and hair and cover your hair up in a shower cap or towel for 30 minutes, before washing it off with lukewarm water. This will restore that perfect shine and bounce.

Olive Oil: Two teaspoons of olive oil is all is takes to maintain your hair’s precious health during winter. Heat your oil and massage it through your scalp slowly, allowing the oil to penetrate deep into the roots. Apart from giving shine and eradicating dandruff and frizz, this also helps in controlling hair breakage.

Dry Your Hair: Considering winters and dryness go hand in hand, one of the most important things to consider during this time is your hair drying ritual. During summers, you tend to let a little wet hair stay as it dries up quickly. Winters is not a time for that. Make sure that all your hair from your roots to your tips is dried out properly, as it will lead to a plethora of hair and scalp problems otherwise. And trust us, that’s a risk you do not want to take.

Conditioning: Do not under any circumstance forgo the conditioner during winter time. Your hair tends to lose its natural oils and moisture during winter, thus making conditioning imperative. Go the extra mile and combine your regular conditioner with some of your favourite hair conditioning oils for winter showers. Your hair will thank you for it.
