Glamorous bun hairstyles for the Indian Wedding - Hair Care

Sophisticated side-bun

If you want the look of a bun with a soft yet elegant style, the side-bun is the way to go. Whether you are sporting a gown or clad in Indian and ethnic wear, a side-bun would grace any attire.
Steps
  • To achieve a well-textured bun, begin with prepping your hair with some soft curls or waves. You could either use a curling tong for this or simply tie your hair the night before into a loose plait.
  • Open your hair the next morning to find natural and gorgeous looking waves. Once done, apply some mousse meant for your hair type.
  • For the bun, begin with adding some more texture to your hair by back combing it loosely with a rat-tail comb. Do this essentially for the crown portion on your head.
  • Proceed with pulling all your hair to one side, as if tying a low, side pony. Hold your hair in a pony and wrap it around in a doughnut pattern.
  • Quickly pin up the bun from underneath and use transparent clear ones. It is preferable that you use a good set of at least 15-20 pins if your hair is below shoulder length.
  • Doing this, would reduce chances of your hair opening up especially during an event running throughout the day. However, don’t tighten up the hair bun too much. Also, if you want a braided look with this bun, just before you are securing the side pony, begin plaiting a loose braid in the direction of the bun.
  • Begin the braiding right in front, near your forehead. At once, tie the braid along with the rest of the hair into the pony. Pull out some strands from the sides and leave your front fringes falling on your forehead.
  • Or try front-wave by brushing your hair in an outer curl direction. You could accessorise with a beaded headband. Or use a heavy embellished pin on one side.If the ponytail is your preferred personal hairstyle, then here is how you can style it differently.
 Timeless classic doughnut bun

Weddings and functions are all about a lot of fun and glamour, but it could also be an unnecessary hassle if your hair is just not in place. To ditch such situations, its best to stick to an all-time classic hairstyle. One such being the doughnut bun. It doesn’t eat up too much time and transforms your look instantly.
Steps
  • Comb your hair out to get rid of any tangles. Back comb the crown portion of your hair, so it doesn’t look too flat and limp.
  • Hold your hair at mid-level to tie a pony. Ensure you don’t tie the pony too tight as it would call for breakage.
  • Pull your hair through doughnut hair tie. Just spread out the rest of your hair over and around the doughnut and secure it with pins, neatly.
  • For a classic and vintage look you could wear  the hair-net over the bun. Or leave it as it is if you prefer to. You could decorate the bun with some fresh flowers on one side for a natural and traditional look.
Wrap-bun

It’s always a challenge to manage long and thick hair for hours together. A hair bun is meant to keep you off from worrying and dealing with too much hair on your face. The wrap bun does just this. It’s not too ‘high-maintenance’ and looks dapper too.
Steps
  • Begin with brushing your hair to clear out all the knots and leave some part of your hair that usually falls on the face and section it.
  • Then, take the rest of the hair and tie it into a pony with a clear elastic. Take moderate volume of  hair, section by section into your hand from the pony and begin with wrapping it around. The layers will then turn out like a wrap.
  • Quickly pin these up. You could pin your hair with coloured pins or stick to gold or silver.
  • Then, for the hair that falls on the face, you can either leave it as it is if you have some coloured streaks.
  • Or you could take the front section and wrap it behind around the rest of the bun and secure it. Once you are done with it completely, you could pin some flowers all around the bin. Here are some
 Double twisted bun

Braids have been ruling the latest hair trends this season. I f you’ve been itching to braid out your hair then the twisted bun gives you the perfect chance to mix the two. This particular hairstyle has plaiting as its base hairstyle. The rest of it is only a cake walk then.
Steps
  • For this one, first tie two plaits on both sides. Remember that before you begin plaiting, tie high ponytails.
  • Ensure your braids are loose. Once done with both the sides, take one plait and wrap it around the other and do the same.
  • Twist and tie the braids into a bun with a fancy hair band and secure it well with pins.
  • As for the hair on the front side, depending upon your haircut if you have short fringes then just brush them inwards.
  • Or you could wear a puff for the crown portion if you think your scalp looks too flat. Backcomb the hair and push it forward slightly and then pin it. Do this before you proceed with the plaits. For a simple, quirky style, try  out the bubble braid too.
