Effects of Excess Sunlight on Your Skin

Sunlight is very important to our skin. It is a good source of vitamin D and very important in our life.

However if we expose our skin to so much sunlight it can be damaged. Therefore, there is a need to carry a sunscreen lotion if you are going to be in the sun for long.

One of the effects of excess sunlight on our skin is the thinning and thickening of our skin. When the skin is thinned, fine wrinkles appear and the skin bruises easily.

At other times the skin tears. When the skin thickens especially behind the neck, coarse wrinkles form and will not disappear even when you stretch the skin. This is solar elastosis and the symptoms include but are not limited to yellow discoloration of the skin.

Another effect of excessive sunlight is that the blood vessel changes. The blood vessels become thin due to UV radiation. As a result, one can bruise easily.

This bruise occurs mostly on the backs of the hands. Due to over exposure to the sun some tiny blood vessels appear in the skin mostly on the face. These blood vessels are what we call telangiectasias.

Also due to excess sunlight exposure, our pigments can change. When the melanin-producing cell known as melanocyte is constantly in fierce sunlight, it is damaged making it bigger. As a result, freckles appear on the skin.

They normally appear on the arms, shoulders, back, chest, and back of the hands. Some people know them as age spots but they are not age related instead they are a result of expose to excess sunlight.

So if you want to keep your skin flawless and smooth it is advisable to carry sunscreen lotion to avoid getting sunburns and the above named

Ways to Wake Up Looking Beautiful Every Morning

#1. Get ready beforehand!
The best way to wake up looking beautiful is to sleep prepared for it. No, we are not asking you to sleep as decked up as women from Indian soap operas. Follow a simple skin care regime during the night time. Remove all your makeup, wash your face, and slather on some moisturiser before you go to bed. This is one of the simplest ways to wake up to a soft and supple face every morning.

What's more? Use the night time for your beauty repairs. Yes, night is the best time for you to apply your beauty treatments, be it for your eyes, face or hair. So, invest in some good overnight creams and serums for the sake of your skin.

#2. Sleep on silk or satin
This one may seem a little strange to you, but sleeping on silk or satin is the best way to avoid getting those irritating sleep wrinkles and fine lines on your face that you can get by sleeping on cotton. Since silk is so smooth, your hair and face will experience less friction as you sleep. This means, your hair will not get tangled easily and your face will be protected from early onslaught of fine lines. So, if not silk or satin bed sheets, then buy silk pillow covers to rest your head on.

#3. Get plenty of sleep
Well, this one is no brainer (or so we hope!). If you take sufficient sleep, then you will not have to worry about your dark circles or under eye bags. Cutting down on the amount of sleep can speed up your ageing process as well. Sleeplessness prevents proper blood circulation in the body, especially on the face, thus making it look more pale. It is this blood flow which results in a brighter and youthful skin.

Moreover, sleepless nights can also lead to weight gain. A 2011 research, published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, found that sleep-deprived people consumed about 300 more calories per day than the well-rested ones. It is so because lack of sleep slows down your metabolism. And, it is this slowdown that triggers the release of stress hormone called cortisol. These stress hormones further boosts your appetite, making you eat more. So, be sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep every day, or else you might just put on weight and get wrinkles really quick!

#4. Sleep on your back
This is one of the most well-kept secrets of waking up looking beautiful- sleep on your back. Do you know that when you sleep on your stomach, your face gets squashed under the weight of your head, and this leads to wrinkles? Yes, this is true. Even many studies and researches have come to light that have shown that sleeping on your stomach increases the risks of wrinkles. So, for the sake of your beautiful face, one tip that you need to follow- sleep on your back.

#5. Pile it under your head
Sleeping with your head slightly elevated will help to improve blood and lymph circulation in your body. If you are sleeping on a flat surface, there are high chances that your body fluids will gather under your eyes and lead to puffy eyes in the morning.

#6. Braid your hair before going to bed
If you braid your hair regularly before going to bed, then it would not be a messy tangle when you wake up. This one is religiously recommended by most grandmothers. It not only strengthens your hair, but also leads to hair growth.

#7. Do your laundry regularly
You may be wondering about the relationship between laundry and your looks? Washing and changing your bed sheets frequently is hygienic and help to keep away bacteria. You should change your pillow covers every other day, and your sheets twice a week. This helps to prevent the build-up of bacteria, which cause skin problems, such as pimples and blackheads.

Best tips to control pimples

Pimples are a pain, and are definitely not a girl’s best friend. Imagine you have a date that you are looking forward too and all of a sudden you find it, the pimple, in the most obvious of places. Here are a few tips to help control it and try to get rid of it.

First of all, the first thing you should be doing is washing your face often, you should at least wash it every morning and night. If you have come in from a long day out in the heat, your might also want to wash your face to get all the excess sweat and oil off.

Also, exfoliate! You can use a scrub that will deep clean the pores and that will help a lot. Don’t forget this part, because leaving the oil and dirt inside the pores can cause pimples to pop up and even other pustules that are worse.

Make sure that you are using a oil-free moisturizer and applying it after washing your face. This will help to keep the moisture of your skin at the right level and also to prevent any unwanted oil and dirt from entering your pores.

Don’t try to pop them, as that will just make it worse and will leave your face red and the pimple will not go away that way. Instead try mixing a few table spoons of baking soda (or less) and mix it with water to form a paste that you can apply over pimples. Do not make a lot of this at once because it can only be kept for a few hours, or max a day, before it will start to dry out and not work.

Make use of a deep conditioner weekly is a superb method to keep one’s hair healthy and also repair any styling damage. This product not only makes the hair feel silky, but it also makes it smell great!

When you are applying a deep conditioner, the length of our hair will establish how much of the product you’re going to need to use.  In addition, ensure that you comb it through when in the shower, giving attention to those areas which require the most help, like those dead ends.

Leave the deep conditioner on for some minutes and then rinse for that shiny, gorgeous looking hair. You can repeat this weekly for the best results.

A hair serum or leave-in conditioner is another great way to ensure the hair stays moisturized and frizz-free long after the shower. Generally use about one pump’s worth of the product right after getting out of your shower and comb it all the way through using your fingers.

The hair feels soft, light and incredibly smooth after this. Frizz-Ease is another great product to make use of prior to styling the hair since it helps avoid frizz and fly-aways. This product blends in very beautifully and it does not add any extra grease so long as only a small amount is used.

Skin Care Tips for Monsoon

While the rains haven't made an appearance yet, the harsh summer has now given way to humid and sticky days. This is very bad news for your skin, as dust and dirt can now settle on your face owing to all the stickiness. Here's what you should do to ensure complete cleansing that will leave your skin fresh and dewy:

1. No matter how tired you are at the end of the day, always use a makeup remover or a face cleanser to clean your skin. Even if you don't wear makeup, the skin is still going to be dirty due to the daytime exposure.

2. Use lemon juice diluted with water to wash your face. This not only lightens your tan but also keeps stickiness at bay.

3. Wear good quality makeup. Your makeup will get ruined due to the humidity in the air. Ensure that you keep it safe, dry and unexposed to pollution.

4. Monsoon is a season for all kinds of infections — specially eyes and skin due to the exposure to dirty rainwater and humidity. Avoid wearing tight clothes that stick to your body, wear dry-fit fabric instead.
